In 1961, Allis Chalmers partnered with Simplicity to manufacture lawn and garden tractors. Shortly after, Allis acquired Simplicity and expanded its range of lawn tractors significantly. In 1983, Allis sold Simplicity, and later, Allis Chalmers was bought by Deutz, which led to the brand being inactive for 25 years. However, in 2008, Briggs & Stratton, the new owner of Simplicity, revived the Allis-Chalmers brand with the introduction of the AC130 line of lawn tractors.
