In 2000, Buhler Industries acquired the Versatile tractor brand and its operations in Winnipeg from New Holland. Versatile was already known as a prominent manufacturer of large four-wheel-drive farm tractors. Buhler initiated a rebranding strategy, marketing the tractors under the name Buhler-Versatile. However, in 2007, Russian combine manufacturer Rostelmash acquired a majority stake in Buhler and decided to revert the tractor line back to the original Versatile name, eliminating the Buhler branding.
