J.I. Case 644

The J.I. Case 644 is an industrial tractor produced from 1972 to 1979 as part of the 600 Series. It features a Kohler K321 0.5L 1-cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine producing 14 hp (10.4 kW). The tractor uses a Hy-Drive hydraulic transmission with infinite forward and reverse speeds in two ranges. It has two-wheel drive, manual steering, and mechanical band brakes with an open operator station. The fuel capacity is 5 gallons (18.9 L) and the hydraulic system holds 3 gallons (11.4 L) with an open center type hydraulic system operating at 2300 psi. Dimensions include a 48 inch (121 cm) wheelbase, 108 inch length with loader, 41 inch width at rear wheels, and a weight of 1130 lbs (512 kg). Tires are 5.70-8 front and 27x8.50-15 rear. Electrical system is 12 volts with a starter-generator early and flywheel alternator late charging system. Attachments include 44" and 48" mid-mount mower decks and a front-end loader with 600 lbs lift capacity. The serial number plate is located on the left side of the tractor just ahead of the steering column.
