Case IH was established when the Tennaco Corporation acquired J.I. Case in 1967 and subsequently took over the tractor operations of International Harvester in 1985. As a result, the two product lines were combined, leading to the discontinuation of the larger IH tractors in favor of the Case models. In 1999, Case IH merged with New Holland to create CNH Global, which still produces tractors under the Case IH brand today.
