Sears ventured into the lawn tractor market in 1959 with the introduction of the David Bradley Suburban models. By 1964, the David Bradley name was phased out, and by the 1970s, the Craftsman brand took its place. Today, all lawn and garden tractors from Sears are marketed under the Craftsman or Craftsman Professional brands. Over the years, various manufacturers have built these tractors, with AYP and MTD being the primary producers in recent times.
