Fortschritt
Fortschritt, meaning "progress" in German, refers to a line of tractors manufactured by the VEB agricultural collective in what was East Germany. This collective was established in 1948 and adopted the name Fortschritt in 1955. Work on a new tractor model, which eventually became the ZT series, commenced in 1964. These tractors were considered cutting-edge at the time of their production. However, a decline in ongoing research funding led to stagnation in the series' development. Tractor manufacturing ceased following the reunification of Germany in 1989. Some of Fortschritt's assets were acquired by Case, and operations persisted until 2004, when all production was ultimately halted.
