John Deere 180

The John Deere 180 lawn tractor was produced from 1986 to 1990 as part of the Late 100 Lawn Series. It was built in Horicon, Wisconsin, USA. The 180 model was available with either a 38 or 46-inch rear deck and featured a 17 hp Kawasaki 534cc 1-cylinder gasoline engine. It had a 5-speed gear transmission (Peerless 800) and two-wheel drive with manual steering. Optional attachments included mid-mount mower decks, snowblower, and blade. The tractor had an open operator station and integral transmission disc brakes. Electrical system included a 12-volt battery with a flywheel alternator charging system. The 180 was offered alongside related models 175 and 185, the latter having a hydrostatic transmission.

Notes:The model 180 John Deere lawn tractor was available with choice of 38 or 46-inch rear deck. A 6.5-bushel rear bagger (BM16790) was optional. When the bagger was used on hills, front wheel weights were recommended. Dual 40-pound rear weight plates plus rear tire chains were available for use with the optional 38-inch single-stage snowblower. The tractor was available with hydrostatic transmission as the model 185.
