The John Deere X340 was produced from 2006 to 2010 as part of the Select X300 Series lawn tractors. It featured a 25 hp Kawasaki 675cc 2-cylinder gasoline engine and a belt-driven hydrostatic transmission (Tuff Torq K58) with infinite forward and reverse speeds. The X340 had manual steering and lift, and was the most powerful and had the largest deck in the X300 series, though not the top tractor due to its manual controls. It was built in Horicon, Wisconsin, USA, and originally priced at $4,749 in 2010. The tractor had a 54-inch mid-mount mower deck, and optional attachments included a 44-inch blade and a 44-inch dual-stage snowblower. The operator station was open with optional sunshade and vinyl weather enclosure, featuring an adjustable seat with seven inches of travel, cupholder, and tool tray. The X340 had two-wheel drive and weighed 551 lbs (249 kg).
