John Deere 1020

The John Deere 1020 is a utility tractor produced from 1965 to 1973 as part of the New Generation Series. It was manufactured in Dubuque, Iowa, USA, Mannheim, Germany, and Mexico. The tractor was available in several variants including low-crop, high-crop, row-crop, and orchard models. It featured gasoline and diesel 3-cylinder liquid-cooled engines with displacements of 2.2L and 2.5L respectively. Transmission options included an 8-speed collar shift, 16-speed two-speed power shift, and 8-speed power shuttle. The tractor had a drawbar power of about 33 hp claimed and 31.81 hp tested, with PTO power around 38.9 hp. It had a closed center hydraulic system with 10 gal capacity and a rear Type I hitch with 2010 lbs lift capacity. The 1020 had a wheelbase of 74.3 inches and weighed between 4210 and 4870 lbs depending on configuration. It was equipped with various tire sizes for agricultural use and offered optional power steering and differential lock. The tractor featured an open operator station and was priced originally at $4,500.
