The tractor has a 6-speed unsynchronized transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. It is available in two variants: the B5000DT with 4WD and the B5000E with 2WD. The B5000 has a wheelbase of 45.9 inches (116 cm), weighs 900 lbs (408 kg), and uses 4.00-10 front and 7-14 rear tires. It has an open operator station and a rear type I hitch.
