Ferruccio Lamborghini began producing tractors in Italy in the late 1940s, utilizing a combination of surplus military equipment from World War II. By 1954, he started to manufacture his own engines, and the company broadened its operations to include the production of high-performance sports cars. However, in the late 1960s, Ferruccio lost interest in tractor manufacturing, leading to the formal acquisition of the company by SAME in 1971. Today, the Lamborghini brand continues to be associated with tractors, operating under the SAME Deutz-Fahr Group.
