Leader

The Leader tractor brand was utilized by various companies in the United States from 1913 to 1949. In 1913, the Leader Engine Company purchased Midland Tractor and began producing tractors in Michigan. In 1915, Leader and several other companies merged with Dayton Foundry & Machine to form Dayton-Dick. This new entity, which later became known as Dayton-Dowd, continued to manufacture tractors in Illinois until 1924. The Leader name returned in Ohio during the 1940s, appearing on small utility tractors that were produced until 1949.
