New Idea lawn tractors

In the mid-1970s, New Idea, a division of AVCO, marketed electric lawn and garden tractors in the United States. Renowned for their manure spreaders, New Idea entered the tractor market in 1974 by selling re-branded models manufactured by General Electric. However, this partnership was brief, as GE transferred production to Wheel Horse in 1975, leading New Idea to sell off its remaining inventory by 1978. Eventually, New Idea merged with White, and the combined entity was acquired by AGCO in 1993.
