The Parrett Tractor Company was established in 1913 in Ottawa, Illinois, by Henry and Dent Parrett. In 1915, the Parrett brothers relocated their business to Chicago, where they achieved success with their model H 12-25 tractor. Their design was licensed by Massey-Harris, which produced versions of the Parrett tractors under its own name (Models 1, 2, and 3) in Canada. However, the introduction of the Fordson tractor led to a significant decline in tractor prices, making it difficult for Parrett to remain competitive. Following the termination of the Massey contract, the company ceased production in 1923. Dent Parrett had exited the company in 1920 but continued to design tractors for other manufacturers. The Parrett name resurfaced in the mid-1930s when Dent designed a tractor that was produced by the Ross Carrier company based in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
