REO produced a series of lawn mowers from the 1940s until 1970. Founded by Ransom Olds, the REO Motor Car Company was among the pioneers in automobile and truck manufacturing. In 1946, REO ventured into the lawn mower market, achieving notable success in the 1950s with their walk-behind reel mowers that featured their own small engine. The company was disbanded in 1954, with the lawn mower division eventually transferred to Wheel Horse in 1963. Wheel Horse continued to market these mowers under the REO brand until 1970.
