The Rome Plow Company has its origins in the Towers and Sullivan Plow Company, which was established in 1877 in Rome, Georgia. In 1932, the business was acquired by Tom Mullen and Jack Lemann, who aimed to produce heavy-duty tillage equipment compatible with Caterpillar tractors. The company relocated from Rome to Cedartown in 1934, where it remains today. In 1976, Rome acquired the Woods & Copeland tractor line and moved production to Cedartown. Rome specialized in large articulated tractors with corresponding implements to optimize operational efficiency. Although tractor production ceased in 1986, the company continues to manufacture heavy implements.
