Orange Coast Imports (OCI), operating under the name Taishan-America, was the first company to import Chinese-manufactured tractors for sale in the United States. Prior to this venture, OCI had experience importing oil drilling equipment from China. In 1983, they showcased three tractors and a self-propelled tiller at agricultural fairs across the western United States, marketing them under the Taishan brand. However, this import agreement ended in 1985.
