Troy-Bilt is the name of a range of gardening tools originally created by Garden Way and currently produced by MTD. A company based in Troy, New York, called WATCO, initially sold parts for the Rototiller series. In 1967, WATCO introduced the Troy-Bilt name for a new line of tillers, and the following year, it rebranded itself as Garden Way. After Garden Way filed for bankruptcy in 2001, MTD took over the Troy-Bilt brand.
