The Caterpillar R4 was an agricultural crawler tractor produced from 1938 to 1944. It was a continuation of the model Thirty and built in Peoria, Illinois, USA. It featured a Caterpillar 7.6L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, a 5-speed gear transmission, and an open operator station. The R4 was designed for agricultural use with crawler drive and had tested drawbar power of 30.88 hp and belt power of 36.37 hp.
