It features a 7.0L 2-cylinder kerosene engine, a 9-speed gear transmission, and two-wheel drive with mechanical recirculating ball steering. The tractor has an open operator station and a rear PTO running at 540 rpm. It weighs 9,150 lbs and has dimensions of 135 inches length, 68 inches width, and 90 inches height. A total of 265 units were built. The 55KA variant runs on kerosene, while the related 55DA variant uses a diesel engine.
