The Cockshutt 540 is a utility tractor produced from 1958 to 1962 by Cockshutt in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the 500 Series and features a Continental F162 2.7L 4-cylinder liquid-cooled gasoline engine. The tractor has a 6-speed unsynchronized transmission with 2 reverse gears, two-wheel drive, and an open operator station. It delivers 26 hp at the drawbar and 31 hp at the belt, suitable for 2-3 plow operations. The rear tires are sized 11x28, and it uses a live rear PTO with a 540 rpm type.
