In 1946, Cockshutt launched its first series of modern farm tractors produced in Canada. The company’s agricultural roots date back to the 1870s, with a number of enterprises run by the Cockshutt family. The Cockshutt Plow Company was established in 1910. In 1961, the tractor manufacturing segment of the company was purchased by White Motor Company, which later became known as White Tractor.
