The Cub Cadet Original is a garden tractor produced from 1960 to 1963 by Cub Cadet, a part of International Harvester. It was built in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. This model was simply named Cub Cadet until additional models were introduced, after which it became known as the Original. It features a 7 hp Kohler K-161 1-cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine with a 262 cc displacement. The tractor has a 3-speed shaft-driven gear transmission with an optional 6-speed creeper underdrive. It has a wheelbase of 42.7 inches and uses lawn/turf tires sized 4.80x4.00-8 front and 6-12 rear. The Original has two-wheel drive, manual steering, mechanical band brakes, and an open operator station with a steel pan seat. Electrical system includes a 12-volt battery with a generator charging system. Attachments available include a 38" mid-mount mower deck, a 42" front-mount blade, and a 36" front-mount snow blower.
