The Cub Cadet Spirit of 76 was a special edition lawn tractor produced from 1975 to 1976 to commemorate the US Bicentennial. It featured a 7 hp Briggs & Stratton 278cc 1-cylinder gasoline engine, a 3-speed unsynchronized Peerless transmission with 3 forward and 1 reverse gears, and two-wheel drive with manual steering. The tractor had an open operator station with a padded seat and was equipped with 13x5.00-6 front tires and 18x8.50-2 rear tires. Electrical system included a 12-volt battery with negative ground. A total of 3,504 units were built.
