The tractor has a 4-speed unsynchronized gear transmission with 4 forward and 1 reverse gears, two-wheel drive, and manual steering with an open operator station. The rear PTO is transmission-driven with a 540 rpm type. Electrical system uses positive ground with two 6-volt batteries. The TEF-20 was also available in an industrial variant called the TET-20.
