In 1929, Minneapolis-Moline was established through the merger of Minneapolis Steel and Machinery, the Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company, and the Moline Plow Company. Minneapolis Steel contributed its expertise in tractor manufacturing, having previously produced tractors for Case and Bull as well as its own Twin City tractor line. In the late 1930s, the company launched the UDLX Comfotractor, which featured an advanced high-speed gearbox and a fully enclosed cab equipped with a heater and radio, making it significantly ahead of its time regarding operator comfort. In 1963, White Motors acquired Minneapolis-Moline, and the name was discontinued in 1974.
