Volvo

Volvo ventured into the tractor industry by collaborating with the Swedish manufacturer Bolinder-Munktell in 1943. The tractors from both companies shared similarities, leading to Volvo's acquisition of Bolinder-Munktell in 1950. The brands operated separately until 1957, when they were unified under the Bolinder-Munktell-Volvo name. In 1973, the brand was renamed Volvo BM to leverage the stronger recognition of the Volvo name. In 1978, the company formed a joint venture with Valmet and subsequently sold its entire tractor division to Valmet (now known as Valtra) in 1985.
