Allis Chalmers D15

The Allis Chalmers D15 is a row-crop tractor produced from 1960 to 1968 by Allis Chalmers in West Allis, Wisconsin, USA. It replaced the D14 with improvements including higher power from increased compression and RPMs for gas and LPG engines, and the addition of a diesel engine option. The tractor features two-wheel drive, manual or optional power steering, and an open operator station. It offers 35.33 hp drawbar power and 40 hp PTO power, with a choice of 8-speed partial power shift or 4-speed transmissions. The D15 has a wheelbase of 88 inches, weighs about 3985 to 4220 lbs depending on fuel type, and supports a 3-plow capacity. It includes a live 540 RPM rear PTO, hydraulic system with 2300 psi pressure, and a Snap-Coupler hitch. Tire options and dimensions vary to suit different agricultural needs.

Transmission

Options:8-speed partial power shift, 4-speed
Shuttle description:The shuttle transmission is controlled using the gear shift lever and the shuttle control lever. The tractor must be stopped, and clutch used, to select one of four speeds with the gear shift. The shuttle control lever enables a shift between forward, reverse, or neutral without clutching. A PTO could be ordered on the industrial D15 with the shuttle, but it ran at 875 RPMs.
Shuttle transmission:4 forward and reverse gears, oil capacity 14.75 qts (14.0 L), oil type SAE80EP
Power Director description:The transmission is controlled by means of the gear shift lever and the Power Director lever. The tractor must be stopped, and clutch used, to select one of four forward gears, or reverse. The Power Director lever has high, low, and neutral positions. The Power Director can be shifted on the move without clutching. Placing the Power Director into neutral causes the tractor to stop while keeping the PTO engaged.
Power Director transmission:partial power shift, 8 forward and 2 reverse gears, oil capacity 14.75 qts (14.0 L), oil type SAE80EP
