The Ford 640 is a utility tractor produced from 1954 to 1957 as part of the 600 Series. It was built in Highland Park, Michigan, USA, and originally sold for $2,056 in 1957. The tractor features a Ford 2.2L 4-cylinder gasoline or LP gas engine, known as the Ford EAE Red Tiger, with 134 ci displacement and 4-speed unsynchronized transmission. It has a power output of approximately 30 hp, with tested drawbar power of 28.59 hp and belt power of 31.01 hp. The tractor is two-wheel drive with manual steering and optional power assist, equipped with differential mechanical expanding shoe brakes and an open operator station.
