Homelite is a U.S.-based manufacturer known for its outdoor power equipment, particularly chainsaws. Established in 1921, the company started producing chainsaws in 1949 and later expanded its product range to include a wide variety of power tools. In 1964, Homelite began marketing re-branded lawn mowers, with the bulk of its lawn tractors supplied by Allis-Chalmers, which later became Simplicity. Following a merger with Jacobsen in 1978, Homelite's lawn tractor production was affected. In 1994, John Deere acquired Homelite-Jacobsen, leading to the discontinuation of the Homelite brand for lawn tractors. In 2001, Homelite was sold to the Chinese conglomerate Techtronic.
