The McCormick-Deering W-6 was the "regular" or standard-tread version of the Farmall M. It was produced from 1940 to 1953 by McCormick-Deering, a part of International Harvester, built in Rock Island, Illinois, USA. The tractor featured a 4.1L 4-cylinder engine available in distillate and gasoline versions, a 5-speed sliding gear transmission, and two-wheel drive with manual steering. It had a rear PTO with a 540 rpm type and an open operator station. The W-6 had a wheelbase of 76 inches, weighed 4050 lbs, and used 6.00-16 front tires and 13-30 rear tires. Total production was 28,378 units, with an original price of $2,400 in 1953.
