Allis Chalmers 190 Beachmaster

The Allis Chalmers 190 Beachmaster is an industrial tractor produced from 1964 to 1972. It was built in West Allis, Wisconsin, USA. It features two engine options: a 4.3L 6-cylinder gasoline engine and a 4.9L 6-cylinder diesel engine. The tractor has an 8-speed two-speed power shift transmission called Power Director, with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears. It is a two-wheel drive tractor with hydraulic power steering and band actuated disc brakes. The operator station is open. The tractor has a fuel capacity of 48 gallons and a hydraulic system capacity of 9 gallons. The hydraulics are open center type with 2000 psi pressure and 12 gpm pump flow. The rear tractor hitch is type II. The rear PTO is live with options for 540, 1000, or 540/1000 RPM. The wheelbase is 105.75 inches and the weight is 7665 lbs. The front tires are 7.50-16 and the rear tires are 18.4-34. Electrical system is negative ground with 12 volts and batteries vary by engine type.

DescriptionThe transmission is controlled by means of the gear shift lever and the Power Director lever. The tractor must be stopped, and clutch used, to select one of four forward gears, or reverse. The Power Director lever has high, low, and neutral positions. The Power Director can be shifted on the move without clutching. Placing the Power Director into neutral causes the tractor to stop while keeping the PTO engaged.
