Deutz's origins can be traced back to pioneers such as Nikolaus Otto and Gottlieb Daimler, who were instrumental in the development of the first internal combustion engines. The company began producing agricultural machinery in 1907. Following World War II, Deutz tractors gained significant popularity in Western Europe, thanks to their reliable, easy-to-use air-cooled diesel engines. In 1969, Deutz merged with Fahr, a manufacturer of farm implements, leading to the creation of the Deutz-Fahr brand. In 1995, the company was acquired by SAME.
