Versatile is a Canadian company that produces four-wheel drive and large row-crop tractors. The company's origins can be traced back to the Hydraulic Engineering Company of Toronto, established in 1947, which initially focused on manufacturing small agricultural implements. In 1987, Versatile was acquired by Ford-New Holland and subsequently produced New Holland four-wheel drive tractors until CNH was mandated to sell the plant in 2000. Buhler Industries then purchased the Winnipeg facility and began branding the tractors as Buhler-Versatile. In 2007, Russian farm machinery manufacturer Rostelmash acquired a majority interest in Buhler and revived the Versatile brand name.
