The Production Association of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) was established on May 29, 1946, in Minsk. This large tractor manufacturing facility remains the largest of its kind globally. Following the Russian Revolution, the Soviet tractor industry saw significant expansion, with early production mainly centered at the Stalingrad factory (STZ). The Minsk factory was built after World War II as a part of the reconstruction efforts in the war-ravaged city. Today, it produces 38 different tractor models and exports its products to more than 100 countries.
