The Farmall 560 is a row-crop tractor produced from 1958 to 1963 by Farmall, a part of International Harvester. It was available in standard-tread and high-crop (Hi-Clear) variants. The tractor experienced issues with the final drive strength, which led to a replacement program by International Harvester. It features multiple engine options including diesel, gasoline, and LP gas 6-cylinder engines. Transmission options include a 5-speed sliding gear and a 10-speed partial power shift with a Torque Amplifier. The tractor delivers around 55 to 66 horsepower estimated engine power, with tested drawbar power around 53 hp and PTO power up to 63 hp. It has a two-wheel drive with manual or optional hydrostatic power steering, independent mechanical disc brakes, and an open operator station. Fuel capacity ranges from 33 to 37 gallons depending on fuel type, with a 16-gallon hydraulic system. The tractor uses an IH Fast Hitch and has an independent rear PTO with 540 rpm. Dimensions vary between standard and Hi-Clear models, with wheelbase from 96 to 100 inches and operating weight from about 6,563 to 6,785 pounds. Attachments include several loader options with varying lift capacities and dimensions.

Notes:The Farmall 560 experienced problems due to the final drive not being strong enough to handle the power of the engine. An entirely new rear end was offered by International in mid 1959, and the company sponsored a massive replacement program.

Type (sliding gear):sliding gear
Gears (sliding gear):5 forward and 1 reverse
Notes (sliding gear):Tractor must be stopped and clutch used to shift gears.
Transmission options:5-speed sliding gear, 10-speed partial power shift
Type (partial power shift):partial power shift
Gears (partial power shift):10 forward and 2 reverse
Notes (partial power shift):The Torque Amplifier (TA) allows a clutchless shift-on-the-move underspeed for any gear. With the TA lever forward, the TA is disengaged and the transmission is in direct drive (DD) mode. To engage the TA, the lever should be pulled quickly and smoothly to the rear. The TA on the 560 will free-wheel, so it should be disengaged when going downhill or towing the tractor to start it.
