New Holland was established in 1895 with a corn mill in Pennsylvania. The company later ventured into manufacturing farm implements and gained popularity with its automatic hay balers. In 1985, Ford acquired the company, leading to the introduction of the Ford-New Holland branding on tractors. In 1990, Ford sold a majority stake in its agricultural machinery division to FIAT, with the stipulation that the Ford name would be phased out within ten years. Consequently, many tractors were launched under both the New Holland brand in traditional Ford markets and the FIAT brand in its core markets. In 1999, CaseIH and FIAT/New Holland merged to create CNH Global, which continues to produce tractors under the New Holland brand.
